School offering research in Spain


   Students can spend the summer of 2004 in France, Switzerland or Africa doing research on Tobacco and HIV/AIDS.
   Pennsylvania State University has received a Minority International Research and Training grant from Fogarty International Center of    Health to support the research training of nine undergraduate and three graduate students to go to France, Switzerland, South Africa and Tanzania.
   Dr. Gary King, department of bio-behavioral health, will focus on the epidemiology of smoking among youth and target adolescent smoking intervention research.
   The trainees for this three-month program will receive transportation and living expenses plus monthly stipends of $800 for undergraduates and $1,225 for graduates. This program will run May 29 though Aug. 20. Complete applications must be received by Nov. 14.
   Applicants should have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30, or cumulative grade point average of 3.40 for the last three semesters. Applicants must be U.S citizens or hold permanent resident visas.
