Throw away mom; keep baby
by Shannon Harrison, Editor-In-Chief

Driving to work today, I was astounded to hear that, once again, a baby had been abandoned in a dumpster behind a gas station.
Yes, another irresponsible person who cares only about herself instead of the well being of an innocent baby threw a child away as though it were a piece of garbage.
If a man and woman have unprotected sex and the woman becomes pregnant, they should have to deal with the consequences.
People who don’t want children have many options, but instead of weighing those options, some choose to destroy an innocent baby’s life.
Thousands of people who cannot have children would do anything to adopt one of these precious lives. But some are never given the chance. Instead, selfish people who don’t want the responsibility of a baby or don’t want to get in trouble because they became pregnant decide that their lives are more important than their babies’ lives.
Rather than taking the baby to a hospital or arranging ahead of time to turn the baby over to an adoption agency, these people merely toss the child away.
Such people need to be treated the exact way they treated their babies.
To carry a child for nine months and then discard it is the most inhumane act I can think of.
What is more interesting, however, is that these people think they can throw a baby away, move on with their lives as though nothing out of the ordinary ever happened and not get caught.
This leads me to believe the person who threw her child is young. However, some adults also have abandoned their new-born babies in the same way.
When caught, whoever did this horrendous crime should rot in a jail cell for a long time and never be allowed to have a child again. Just to make sure, the courts should order her to have a hysterectomy. To some, that may seem cruel punishment and a violation of her rights, but she was cruel and violated her baby’s rights.
I am just glad someone heard that baby crying before it froze to death or was suffocated by garbage. Life is precious, and someone who decides to terminate another’s life does not deserve to live hers the way she wants.
This person has no conscience and deserves to be punished.
