The NW Campus drama production Be Aggressive
returned from the regional American Theatre Festival Competition last
month with several honors. The production won Excellence in Prop Design
and Excellence in Sound Design. Three actors received the Irene Ryan
Acting Awards: Kayla Foster, Annie Anderson and Kirk Fisher. The production
also won the Director’s Choice Award, meaning it will be in consideration
for the next level of competition in the spring.

Gloria Baze and Brice Miller, South Campus students, were awarded $150
scholarships Nov. 21 by the Ándale Spanish Club. To be eligible,
the winners had to be currently enrolled on South Campus, have completed
12 credit hours of Spanish and have a minimum 2.0 GPA.

Three NE Campus teachers have been selected finalists in the EECU-TCC
NE Academic Event Best Lecturer Contest. Peter Hacker, assistant professor
of history; Bryan Morgan, adjunct instructor of philosophy; and Steve
Hagstrom, director of library services, will compete for the top prize
Monday, Jan. 12. Sixteen faculty members entered.

Students at the sophomore or higher level may be eligible for a $1,000
scholarship from the Arlington Pacesetter Chapter of the American Business
Women’s Association. Applicants must be attending or accepted
to an accredited college or university that confers baccalaureate degrees
and must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. Check
the financial aid office on any campus for an application. Deadline
is Jan. 31.

Now-Dec.
16 The Northeast Professional Support Staff Association is
collecting clothing for Women’s Haven of Tarrant County. Boxes
are located in the Bookstore, OFO, Faculty Building and Library. Gently
worn children’s and women’s clothing is needed by Tuesday,
Dec. 16.

4-5 NW Campus students, faculty and staff will sponsor the
Signing Santa 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Skatin’ Texas, 3700 S. Highway
377. Santa will be available to visit with pre-K through sixth grade
deaf children on Thursday and seventh through 12th grade students on
Friday. Admission to the event, sponsored by the sign language interpreter
program on NW Campus, is $3.
Dec. 8-9 The Christian Student Ministries on SE Campus
will provide free Scantrons and pencils in the Commons 7-11 a.m. while
supplies last.
