Architecture aim of museum show

    The Modern at Sundance Square currently is showing six of the 25 international architectural projects from Museums for a New Millennium: Concepts Projects, Buildings.

   The remaining 19 projects are on view at the Museum.

   The Modern Art Museum is the first United States venue on this major international exhibition, which has been on display through Europe since February 2000. Other stops include locations in North and South America and Japan.

   The exhibition presents photographs, drawings and original models of high-quality museum architecture throughout the world.

   Other projects on view at The Modern at Sundance Square are The J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles by Richard Meier; Moderna Museet/Arkite turmeseet, Stockholm by Jose Rafael Moneo; Museum of Contempo-rary Art, San Diego by Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown; Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago by Josef Paul Kleihues; and Museo de las Cuevas de Altamira, Santillana del Mar by Juan Navarro Baldeweg.

   The Modern is the oldest art museum in Texas. It was established in 1892 as the Fort Worth Public Library and Art Gallery.

   Museums for a New Millennium: Concepts, Projects, Buildings is on view through Sunday, April 14. Hours of operation are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
