Film re-mastered for IMAX

Since the beginning of time, the moon has been looked at as a heavenly body man has aspired to visit.
In 1969 the United States sent a group of astronauts to the moon.
The crew of Apollo 11 was the first to land successfully on the moon.
Numerous attempts to travel to the moon followed that mission. None, however, would succeed.
One mission stands out among the rest. Apollo 13 was sent a few years after Neal Armstrong took his one small step for man, and one giant leap for mankind.
Historians consider Apollo 13 the successful failure.
It was still deemed a success because the crew overcame a tremendous adversity in their mission.
Disaster struck before the crew could make their landing on the moon and forced them to head home.
The astronauts and the mission control engineers would put themselves and their equipment to the extreme test.
The 1995 film Apollo 13 portrays the trials the crew of Apollo 13 and mission control faced.
The film has been digitally re-mastered in IMAX format. Directed by award-winner Ron Howard, Apollo 13 is packed with a number of big stars.
Tom Hanks stars as Jim Lovell, who was part of the crew scheduled to be on Apollo 14.
They are bumped up and become the crew for Apollo 13.
Things get shaken early when Lovell learns crew member Ken Mattingly (Gary Sinise) is suffering from the measles.
Lovell then must decide whether to replace Mattingly or not to go at all.
Lovell wants to live out his dream to set foot on the moon.
So he replaces his crew member with Jack Swigert (Kevin Bacon). The three then prepare for their voyage to the moon.
They are, as is the world, unprepared for the uncharted territory they are about to encounter.
Despite being bumped from the flight, Mattingly ends up playing a pivotal role in the return to safety of the flight and crew.
Apollo 13 is an edge-of-your-seat action movie now containing a huge punch.
Despite knowing the outcome, audience members, nevertheless, are enthralled with the action as it unfolds.
The IMAX version of this film is a great experience the whole family can enjoy.
Apollo 13 is now showing in select IMAX theaters.
