Student suspect in NE Campus assault
An assault occurred on NE Campus Friday, Sept. 7, around 11:30 a.m. in the Academic Classroom Building.
According to Lt. Terry Moak, NE Campus Police supervisor, a male suspect attempted to assault a person in the womens restroom.
The suspect has been charged with simple assault by contact.
The suspect, who was a student at the time of the assault, has also been issued a criminal trespass warning and is not allowed back on TCC property without first contacting the dean of students.
Because of the assault, he is no longer a student on campus.
Anyone who has information or witnessed the assault should contact Lt. Moak at 817-515-6737 or in the NE police department.
Although measures are taken to ensure the safety of TCC students, faculty, staff and visitors, the police suggest that everyone take precautions.
Students should be aware of their surroundings and notify the campus police or an administrator if they see anything or anyone who looks or acts suspicious.
Night students can request an escort to their cars if they feel uncomfortable, police say.
Campus crime statistics are available at all TCC campus police departments and are reported in The Collegian once a year.
