NE, NW prepare awards days
The NE Campus awards and recognition program will be tonight in the Student Center, Center Corner.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a reception for the honorees.
Diane Enger, NE Campus adjunct music instructor, will entertain attendees with chamber music.
The TCC Jazz ensemble, directed by Jack Cobb, also will perform before the ceremony.
More than 100 students will be recognized during the ceremony.
Those to be recognized include students in the Cornerstone Program, Distinguished Student Scholars, recipients of special scholarships and students nominated for inclusion in Whos Who in American Junior Colleges.
In addition, each academic department will honor one or more outstanding students with a departmental award.
Outstanding faculty and staff will also be recognized.
The Viking Award and the Herman L. Crow Branding Iron Award will be presented by Dr. Larry Darlage, NE Campus president.
The NW Campus is acknowledging students with outstanding achievements at its annual awards banquet Tuesday, April 30, at 7 p.m. in B-118.
The banquet is designed for students who have received awards or scholastic achievements during the year.
Also included in the ceremony are students named to Whos Who and organization leaders.
Students also will be competing for a $100 scholarship to be given at the banquet.
Students receiving awards and their families are invited.
