Runners to dash for the Carter
Attention all runners: registration is underway for the Dash for the Timber 5k run Saturday Sept. 29 at the Amon Carter Museum.
The starting gun goes off at 8 a.m. A Kiddie Kilometer for children under 12 begins at 8:45 a.m.
The Dash, now in its 11th year, funds educational programs for the museum.
Prizes, refreshments and music will follow the race.
All runners will receive a Dash 5K t-shirt. Kiddie Kilometer runners will each receive a medal.
Top male and female 5k winners in the open and masters division will each receive a trophy, a one-year membership to The Health & Fitness Connection and a gift certificate to Lukes.
Those present will also be eligible for other prizes.
Race day activities will be on the Carter grounds east of the plaza. Mexican fare by Dos Gringos, fruit, snacks and drinks will be available to all participants.
Registration forms can be picked up at the museum or online at active.com.
The cost is $15 before Sept. 17 and $18 after.
Race packets can be picked up beginning Sept. 17 at the Fort Worth Running Company and Lukes of Fort Worth.
