Campuses cast productions
by Michael Kraft, entertainment editor

The first shows coming to TCC have been cast, and everyone involved is working to bring productions to the campus stage.

On NE Campus, Jakie Cabe is directing Private Eyes by Steven Dietz.

The play is about an actor named Matthew, played by James Warila, and his actress wife Lisa, played by Tonya Stapleton.

The play centers around deception and lies, and the characters are never quite who they seem to be.

Other characters are Adrian, played by Victor Sauceda, a British director who is cheating with Lisa; Cory, a waitress, who has a secret, and is played by Jenell Underwood; and Frank, Matthew’s embattled therapist played by Adam Dapkus.

Other cast members include Raquel Bell, Jennifer Dodd, Rob Reasonover, Ember Harris and James Miner. Understudies are Rusty Thornsburg and James Fryar.

The show opens Tuesday, Oct. 9 and runs through Saturday, Oct. 13. Show times are 8 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee Saturday.

The SE Campus is working on its show, Domestic Issues by Coreen Jacker.

The timing is ironic as the play deals with a former terrorist, Steve, played by Andrew Rivera, who moves in with his brother Larry, played by Eddie Zertuche, and Larry’s wife Sue, played by Sarah Hemadi.

The conflict is Steve’s desire to become legitimate. Forces from Steve’s past, such as his wife Ellen, also a terrorist, played by Tamara Fuller and Nancy, a biographical writer working on Steve, played by Holland Sanders, keep bringing back the past he wants to forget.

An added issue is Ellison, played by David Vieira, a ghost who is haunting Steve.

The show opens Wednesday, Oct. 10 and runs through Saturday, Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday.

South and NW campuses are casting for their productions later this semester.
