Club Fest opens semester on SE

As the spring semester starts up, so do campus activities on SE Campus. During the remainder of January, SE Campus will hold a wide range of events.

Club Fest is scheduled today and tomorrow, Jan. 24-25, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and 6 p.m.-10 p.m. The annual event provides an opportunity for students to learn about the various student organizations, which range from professional organizations such as the Future Professionals of Science and Medicine to religious organizations such as the Muslim Student Organization. There are student organizations that may appeal to many of SE’s students. Even honor societies such as Phi Theta Kappa will participate.

Booths will be set up for each individual organization, and any questions pertaining to membership in any of these organizations can be answered there. The free festival will be held in the hallway of the E wing. All interested can stop by and visit with a representative at the booths. Those who want to create a student organization can ask how to start their own.

On the same days, Jan. 24 and 25, at 8 p.m., there will be yet another opportunity to branch out in school functions. Those interested in having a melodious evening or evenings can listen to the musical interludes provided by the Las Colinas Symphony accompanied by the Women’s Chorus of Dallas. Evgueni Ratchev will conduct the singing and symphony. The symphony and choir will perform familiar compositions such as Midsummer’s Night Dream, Saint-Saen’s La Nuit, and Debussy’s Nocturns. Other surprises will be in store for all those who attend.
