Railway debuts its concert train

Concert goers in the Fort Worth and Mid-Cities area can now skip the lengthy drive to Reunion Arena.

The Trinity Railway Express (TRE) is now running special concert trains to the Reunion Arena station. The concert train debuted for last night’s U-2 concert and will be followed by the Matchbox Twenty concert Tuesday, April 10.

The TRE will serve only listed weekday and Saturday concerts held at Reunion Arena. A train will not serve Sunday concerts.

The TRE will stop at three stations in Tarrant County including Richland Hills, Hurst/Bell Helicopter and DFW/CentrePort.

The cost for the train trip is $2, and the time of these stops will be based on the starting time of the concert.

After the concerts, three trains will return to the Fort Worth area, with departure times of 10 p.m., 11:05 p.m. and 12:10 a.m.

The TRE currently runs daily service for people who commute to Dallas or Fort Worth and runs to certain sporting events at Reunion Arena. It is sponsored by The T and DART.

For more information or scheduled times and concerts, call 817-215-8600 or go to www.the-T.com or www.DART.org.
