Construction starts on NW

NW Campus has broken ground for a new campus beautification project. A waterfall and flower bed will replace the lot of grass and picnic tables in the courtyard by the Node building.

Dr. Michael Saenz, NW president, has provided an undisclosed budget for the project headed up by Charles Schulenburg, NW plant superintendent.

“We hope it will be completed before the students come back from the Christmas break, but if more important projects come up, those will take precedence,” he said.

The fountain will feature plants and possibly fish indigenous to the surrounding area that will be removed and replaced as the seasons change.

“We hold a lot of events there so hopefully the fountain will make nice scenery,” Schulenburg said.

Other than the planting of 55 additional trees on campus, the waterfall will be the year’s major landscaping project.
