Scholarship deadlines near
This month TCC students can apply for three annual achievement scholarships to be awarded for the spring semester.
The Outstanding Achievement Award, available on the NW Campus, will pay recipients up to $100 in tuition and fees for the Spring 2002 semester.
A total of 45 awards will be given through 16 departments.
Faculty members in each department will select the winners.
Award criteria include academic excellence, class attendance and participation and campus and community involvement.
Applications for the award are available from student activities, counseling, financial aid, and the dean of students office, and must be turned in by Nov. 27.
Students on the NE Campus can apply for the Distinguished Student Scholarship.
Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA at the end of the fall semester, must be enrolled in at least six hours and must get a faculty recommendation. Selection for the Distinguished Student Scholarships will also be based on participation in extracurricular activities, class participation, personal motivation and attitude, and demonstrated leadership.
Applications are available from faculty members and in the financial aid office, and should be received in mid-November.
The Academic Achievement Award is available for students on all campuses, who are in their final semester at TCC.
Applicants must be full-time students in their last semester at TCC, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need and complete a TCC degree or certificate in the semester of the award.
The deadline for applications for the Spring 2002 semester is Jan. 31.
Applications can be picked up in the financial aid office on any campus.
