Festival welcomes fall with food, fun, LeFreaks

    The fourth annual Northeast Fall Festival held by the City of Hurst and Tarrant County College will be on NE Campus Friday-Sunday, Oct. 12-14.

    This year the festival will begin with a Friday night preview with unlimited carnival rides. Passes are $10 at the Hurst Recreation Center and $15 at the gate.

    Saturday morning will begin with a 5K run/walk at 8:30 a.m. followed by the festival’s official opening at 10 a.m. One feature will be an arts and crafts show with over 65 vendors. Also beginning at 10 a.m. are an antique tractor show and a classic car show.

    A children’s area with activities including sidewalk chalk art, a vehicle display by Hurst Fire and Police Departments and miniature golf will be free of charge.

    Saturday afternoon will be the lawn and garden tractor pull, which is a new event to the festival this year. Later that evening the main stage entertainment will start at 6 p.m. with bands including A Hard Night’s Day, Random Axis and LeFreak.

    Also new this year, a fireworks display will begin immediately after the last band’s performance around 10 p.m. on Saturday.

    The festival resumes Sunday morning at 11 a.m. with the same activities. The main stage performances will begin at 1 p.m. with A Hard Night’s Day followed by Grammy winning Brave Combo at 2:15 p.m..

    Included in the festival will be food sold by numerous vendors.
