Hip-hoppers hunted

Local Hip Hop artists may have an opportunity to make it big in the recording industry this weekend in downtown Fort Worth.

The Fort Worth Library, in concert with Sound Recording Studio and radio station 97.9 FM, The Beat, will be hunting for promising hip hop performers Saturday, Feb. 23, 1-5:30 p.m. in the David Tandy Lecture Hall, Central Library.

Artists should bring demo tapes for review by the entertainment industry professionals from A&R Studios.

Noteworthy demos will be forwarded to major record labels in a bid for a chance to obtain a recording contract.

The hunt for new talent is accompanied by a symposium with a panel discussion by entertainment experts, along with live entertainment. The panel discussion will include radio station personalities, an entertainment attorney, a recording engineer and a record producer.

This library event is in cooperation with the National Hip Hop Hunt, being conducted in major urban areas.
