Fox releases list of upcoming films for holiday fare

      Twentieth Century Fox releases its fall/holiday line up for movies coming out beginning Oct. 6.
      TIGERLAND (Oct. 6) Staring Colin J. Farrell, Matt Davis, Clifton Collins, Tom Guiry and Shea Whigham, the film is about a group of draftees who are “saved” from Vietnam.
      One day, an irreverent soldier enters their ranks and sacrifices his own chances to go home by tricking the military officials into discharging them.
      DIGIMON: THE MOVIE (Oct. 6) The internet becomes a battlefield for the DigiDestined and their Digimon companions as they embark on their greatest adventure, yet.
      The movie version has more lush and detailed animation than what was seen in the series.
      There is also a more expansive storyline and more detailed characters that will attract parents as well as their children.
      BEDAZZLED (Oct. 20) Brendan Fraser and Elizabeth Hurley star in this mystical comedy about a nerdy low-level technical advisor who makes a deal with the Devil to fulfill his wildest dreams of becoming rich, powerful and sexy. When this does not win him the love of his co-worker, he again turns to the Devil for a surprising solution.
      MEN OF HONOR (Nov. 10) This true story of Carl Brasher, who served his country as the first African-American Navy diver, stars Cuba Gooding Jr.
      A young black third-class sailor spends two years writing a hundred letters to get accepted into the Navy Dive School program of the newly integrated military.
      In addition to undergoing a punishing physical training program, Brashear must study and excel in physics, chemistry, diving, medicine and mechanics.
      CAST AWAY (Dec. 22) Tom Hanks and Helen Hunt star in this contemporary drama about a man who is isolated on an island and forced to transform himself in order to survive both physically and emotionally.
      Hanks, who plays the isolated man or “cast away” came up with the idea for the film and began developing the script with screenwriter William Broyles Jr. over five years ago when they worked together on Apollo 13.
