Campuses to open intramural action

For all those who cant wait for sports excitement, its time to sign up for intramural activities.
Students attending NW Campus can contact Ron Morgan at 817-515-7749. Activities offered and due dates for entries include flag football, Friday, Sept. 15; tennis singles, Friday, Oct. 20; tennis doubles and volleyball, Friday, Nov. 3; and a turkey trot, Thursday, Nov. 30.
Open swim times on NW Campus will be posted in the PHED/D area. The tennis court lights will remain on from dark until 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Sept. 18-Dec. 3. The gym will close at 10 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 4:30 p.m. Fridays.
All team entries for intramural activities are final, and each flag football team must furnish an official designee.
SE Campus starts intramural activities with flag football registration Sept. 10-16.
Table tennis registration is Oct. 2-4 and action starts Thursday, Oct. 5, at 1:30 p.m. Kick boxing classes as well as a boot camp are also available in October.
Volleyball registration is scheduled for Nov. 6-10. Golf activities and a turkey trot are also planned for November.
Boot camp and an aerobic cheer class are being offered in December.

South Campus offers several intramural activities for all students to participate in. The deadline to sign up for flag football is Friday, Sept. 15, and play starts Wednesday, Sept. 20.
Registration for volleyball, racquetball and tennis end Friday, Sept. 22. Racquetball and tennis start play on Wednesdays beginning Sept. 27. Volleyball is played on Tuesdays, but participants will meet Wednesday, Sept. 27. For racquetball and tennis singles, there is a grace period of a week to get the match played.
Basketball starts in October, and the deadline for 1-on-1 and 3-on-3 is Friday, Oct. 20. One-on-one games begin Monday, Oct. 23 with 3-on-3 beginning Monday, Oct. 30.
South Campus recommends its health program, Century Clubs. Basically, a person can work out by running, walking, jogging and/or using the Stairmaster, Airdyne cycles and the treadmill with the goal of reaching 100 miles. When participants reach 100 miles, 250 miles and 500 miles, they receive a T-shirt. One can join any time, and all miles carry over into the next semester.

On NE Campus, intramural flag football kicks off Wednesday, Sept. 20, with games to be played on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Entries are due Saturday, Oct. 14, at 8 a.m. for a 5k fun run/walk, part of the Northeast Fall Festival, that same day. However, early entries are $10 with a guarantee of a T-shirt.
Tennis entries are due Saturday, Oct. 21, with a tennis tournament starting at 9 a.m. the same day.
Singles racquetball tournament play is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 3; entries are due by 12:30 p.m. that day. One-on-One basketball tournament action begins Friday, Nov. 10, with entries due by 12:30 p.m. Three-man basketball competition starts Friday, Nov. 17; entries are due by 12:30 p.m.
