Itsa spicy festival planned on South
April activities will bring the sights, sounds and tastes of the classic country of Italy to South Campus.
Sponsored by the South Campus fine arts department, an Italian Street Festival begins the months events Tuesday, April 3, at 7:30 p.m. in FAB 150.
The Italian Street Festival will feature live performances of Italian songs and arias by South Campus voice students, Darlene Marks, adjunct music instructor, said.
A reception with food and live entertainment in the patio area located inside the fine arts complex will follow the concert.
Marks said the events are free and open to the community.
Donations for the Fine Arts Scholarship Fund will be appreciated.
All the selections will be sung in Italian accompanied by a program with the selections translated into English, she said.
Another Italian musical performance is scheduled Thursday and Friday, April 26-27, at 7:30 p.m. in FAB 150.
Opera Workshop students will also present excerpts from classic Italian Operas such as Rigoletto and La Boheme as well as other well-known selections, she said.
