Letters to the editor
Dear Editor
Does anyone ever have an opinion on campus issues? Or is that forbidden?
Specifically, the treatment of students by the campus police?
Im a single parent of two returning to campus after 15 years of absence. I could pay the extra money and go to another local school, but I wanted to come here because it was familiar and close to home, and had the classes I wanted when I wanted them.
I am regretting this choice every day I come to school. I've been in classes for just over a month, and I've been pulled over twice and harassed by campus police. Of course, I received no ticket (can they even issue tickets?) because I didn't do anything wrong. These guys and gals are rude, and they obviously have some sort of control issues that need to be dealt with outside their jobs.
My time is precious to me. I work 8-10 hours a day, and three times a week I have to squeeze in classes in an effort to improve my life.
What do I get for it? The cops follow us around looking for us to go 21 mph instead of 20. Looking for us to roll one inch past a stop sign, or to look at them the wrong way, so they can get off on sounding their little horns and flashing their little lights.
I have a perfect driving record, and I'm not some 18-year-old with a lead foot.
I doubt that you will post this, but I have to speak my mind anyway. I would also love to know if anyone else has similar complaints.
I promise that next semester, I will pay the out-of-district tuition to be treated with just a little more respect. Tarrant County College needs to remember that its students are customers. We do have a choice.

Mr. Taylor,
I'd like to start off by letting you know that your article that you wrote about the Republican Party was not only distasteful and immature, but also misinformed. I would certainly like to know where youre getting your information for the entire Republican Party.
If you would like to attack a political belief or ideal, you need to learn to get personal.
If you attack the entire Republican Party, youre going to tee a LOT of people off. If you don't approve of what George W. is doing, then say that. Just dont go saying that its the whole Republican Party.
If you don't agree with ol Newt, great, but dont try to slander him by using Clinton as an example. At least Newt Gingrich had the nerve to step down from office.
Where was your boy Bill?? Sitting in the oval office making a mockery of our country, thats where.
On to the Christianity subject ... I'm going to leave you my mailing address at the end of this letter so that you can kindly send me a copy of ANY quote from ANY Republican in the last four years or so that has said anything about CONVERTING anyone.
For another thing, not all Republicans want the Ten Com-mandments posted. If we did that, then it would be a direct violation of the establishment clause, therefore, making it mandatory that we allow every religion the right to post its10 most favorite things to do in the halls of the schools.
Don't take for granted that all Republicans think the exact same way.
On to the Lord and Savior ... Do you HONESTLY think that Jesus would have voted for Bill Clinton either? Nuff said.
Oh, and also in that letter that I would LOVE to receive from you, I would like to know the EXACT scripture and verse that says anything about Jesus Christ having long hair. Oh, and by the way, Christ's ideals weren't wild, they were GOD'S. PERIOD.
One last thing, the Bible has a direct reference to the death penalty. I don't have it with me right now because I am at the SE Campus. But in three hours when I arrive home, I would be more than happy to back my word up and send you the scripture and verse, WORD FOR WORD.
Next time you write a story, you might want to look at both sides of the toilet seat before you decide which one is dirtiest.
