Letters to the editor

    Dear Editor:
The Jesus video that you reference in The Collegian article was sent out of love to as many homes as possible. They were given free of charge and mailed without cost to you and all who received them.
The money for this effort came from many Christians who wanted to share this wonderful message that might not otherwise be heard.
If you get a chance, watch it. You might change your perspective.
Please focus your talents in areas that might benefit our college, showing your ability to analyze rather than defame.

    assistant professor, Nursing, South

    Dear Editor:
Your article this week in The Collegian crossed over the line.     When you make fun of and print disrespect against Jesus, you have gone too far.
Apparently, you know nothing about the Bible or much of anything else. For that, I pity you.
However, Jesus was a perfect man because He is GOD. People like you will one day bow before Him and beg forgiveness. For what you did in this article will one day have to be explained before His throne.
You are a very young man and have many things to learn. You will learn best by standing in the shoes of the person you are judging. Wisdom comes with age and experience, and you have shown in your articles that you are a long way from that.
I am embarrassed for our school for some of the things you have printed in this newspaper.
The world you know is not the world I knew when I was your age. It has changed because of people like you who think they know what is best for the rest of us.
Sadly, your way of thinking is ruining America.
Maybe, before you write about things you have no true knowledge of, you need to grow up, search for the truth, have first-hand experiences, and then give your opinion.
The first step might be to read the Bible.

    Dear Editor:
The article in The Collegian certainly does not give any credibility to the school of which I have been proud to be a student and to send my children.
The Jesus video was sent with sacrifice and love. It contains a wonderful message. Watch it sometime.
A college newspaper should contain material of value to students.
Your ridicule and anger could be of some concern.

    Dear Editor:
I have been reading Chris Taylor's Don't Tread on Me column for some time, and I find it appalling that The Collegian continues to allow him to spout his anti-Christian rhetoric.
If Mr. Taylor wrote about African-Americans, women or homosexuals the way he writes about Christianity, he would have been removed from The Collegian staff long ago.
I am embarrassed that the newspaper representing my school allows such blatant bigotry to be published week after week.
Mr. Taylor, I pity you. How sad that anyone could harbor such hatred toward anyone, much less feel the need to constantly express those feelings publicly. I have been praying for you and will continue to do so.
My prayer is not that you will stop writing, but that God's love will change your heart.

    To Editor in Chief:
No one forced you to watch the Jesus video. If you’re not going to watch the video, why not give it to a local church? Your immaturish column misuses a name many hold dear.
I think religious discrimination is not too strong a phrase. The First Amendment protects freedom of the press, but not religious discrimination.
    Sincerely,
Austin R. Robinson, minister, adjunct instructor, speech, NE
