Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor:

I am truly an Ameican, and one of the things I love about America is our freedom of speech. But one thing that can make me more mad than anything else is when a journalist attempts to write on a topic they know nothing about. This is for the author of “Society overvalues military action.”

What if you were not allowed to go to college? You get to in America! Look at Afghanistan since we’ve ousted their leader. Now girls are attending school and women are being doctors and lawyers again, thanks to our military actions. America has gone to war for the wrong reasons?

Our treaty with South Korea is why we defended them against communist power. Now they are one of the largest democracy areas. South Vietnam asked for the same help. People hated soldiers for things they did not understand. No support, no victory.

The Former Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu also explained about proof of weapons and if we get rid of this dictator, people will taste freedom and drive out terrorists.

My bags are packed, and if I am needed, I will serve for freedom for the third time. Depending on the outcome, we’ll be seen as heroes or murderers.

Benny and Rachel Rogers
