Scholarships offered for life experiences

Ever dream of producing a television show?

The Priceless Edge, a program developed by MasterCard in conjunction with several partners, is offering select college students access to a real-life experience in the music and entertainment industry.

Fifty students nationwide will be awarded a full scholarship to study for five weeks in residence at Vanderbilt and Belmont universities.

Students will attend classes in artist relations, entertainment marketing and more. In addition, students will participate off-campus in field trips to major record labels, time in recording studios and seminars with top recording artists.

Out of the 50 students attending, 12 will be selected for a two-week internship to help produce a television episode of Music In High Places, starring recording artist Unwritten Law.
Interns will learn first-hand what it takes to produce a television show.

The episode will air on MTV, and the students’ names will be mentioned in the credits.

The five-week summer study program in Nashville will run from May 28 through June 28. The two-week internship is currently scheduled for August.

Students can enter the contest at www.pricelessedge.com. The contest is open to U.S. residents between the ages of 18-25 enrolled as full- or part-time undergraduate students in a two- or four-year college or university.

Entries will be accepted through Tuesday, April 23.

Winners will be notified in May.
