Potters to pour tea for party

    A Mad Potter’s Tea will dedicate the NE Campus giant chessboard, designed and installed to commemorate the campus’ 30th anniversary.

    Sponsored by the NE Campus Association of Potters and Sculptors (NECAPS), the festivity will be Tuesday, April 24, at 2 p.m. on the FAB west lawn.

    “The reception is in appreciation of those who made the chessboard possible. Their names will be on a plaque presented to Dr. Larry Darlage, campus president, and Dr. Paula Vastine-Norman, director of student services,” Karmien Bowman, NECAPS sponsor, said.

    The pot-luck reception will follow the presentation.

    “Those wishing to participate in the tea celebration may bring something, tell a story, recite a poem, sing a song, dress in fantasy, challenge someone to a game of chess or just enjoy the festivities,” Bowman said.
