Talk to focus on relieving math anxiety

Students can turn math anxiety into confidence by attending Subtract Fear/Multiply Confidence on NE Campus next week.

The presenters, Richard Vela and Carolina Saleh, academic advisors, have both been through the developmental math courses. They survived, and now they want to share their experience.

“The biggest problem facing developmental students is the lack of math practice,” Vela said.

Vela and Saleh will help students avoid the common mistakes made in math.

The presentation is for all math students. Participants will receive a handout of the presentation material.

The presentation is Tuesday, Oct. 1, 12:30-1:50 p.m. in ATB 236.
Vela said a side benefit of the presentation will be the explanation of the

TASP “B” rule, which allows students to continue their academic courses.
