Counselors to subtract fears over math classes

NE Counseling has rescheduled two of its College 101 seminars.

The Subtract Fear, Multiply Confidence workshop has been rescheduled to Tuesday, Oct. 23, 12:30 p.m.-1:40 p.m. in ATB 236.

Of all the subjects students study, math seems to be one that instills fear and contempt, counselors believe. Students are invited to develop a positive attitude towards math by attending the NE Campus Survival Workshop on math.

NE advisors Richard Vela and Carolina Saleh will conduct the session on dealing with math anxieties.

The following day a degree-planning workshop will be repeated. Students will meet in the Student Center Galley for advice on planning their future education Thursday, Oct. 25, 5:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m. Local Texas college and university catalogs will be available for viewing.
