Campuses to coproduce Once Upon a Mattress

    The NE and NW drama departments will join next month to co-produce the Broadway musical Once Upon a Mattress.

   The musical, which helped launch the career of actress Carol Burnett, is a light-hearted comedy loosely based on the fairy tale The Princess and the Pea.

   Jakie Cabe, NE Playhouse director, welcomes the chance to work with Brent Alford, his counterpart on NW Campus.

   “[Alford] and I have acted together before, so we know each other quite well,” Cabe said.

   This production marks the first time two campuses have collaborated on a theatrical production.

   “The logistics are going to work out quite well. This show is so big, it will be nice to have extra help,” Cabe said
 

  The play runs Feb 26-March 2 on the NE Campus and March 7-10 on NW Campus.
