May family festival entering 30th year

    Mayfest, a four-day family festival at Trinity Park along the river in Fort Worth, runs May 2-5.

   This year’s Mayfest, which celebrates 30 years, includes the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, The Little River Band, Jack Ingram, Latin Express and the Party Crashers.

   There will also be a Sport and Adventure Avenue.

   Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for children ages 6-12 (children 5 and under are free) and $4 for seniors (age 55 and older). Thursday is Senior Citizens Day; all seniors will be admitted free and treated to a complimentary drink and snack.

   Friday is Patriotic Day, with all military personnel and veterans admitted free with a Military I.D.

   Mayfest has raised more than $5 million for local charities including Habitat for Humanity, Alliance for Children, Performing Arts Fort Worth, the Fort Worth Public Library, Women’s Haven and the YWCA.

   Junior League of Fort Worth, Fort Worth Parks and Community Services, Tarrant Regional Water District, and Streams and Valleys sponsor Mayfest.
