Cliburn medalist to perform with Chamber Music Society

A critically acclaimed Cliburn gold medalist will perform with the Fort Worth Chamber Music Society this weekend.
Jon Nakamatsu will join the Society in concert Sunday, Dec. 9, at 2:30 p.m.
The performance will be in the Van Cliburn Recital Hall in the Maddox-Muse Center.
The concert will open and close with works of Beethoven. String Quartet in E Flat, Op. 130 is the opener while the Grosse Fugue, Op. 133 will close the concert.
According to Carter Enyeart, assistant musical director and cellist for the chamber group, the Grosse Fugue was originally composed as the last movement of the String Quartet, Op. 130.
Because of the magnitude of the work, it became a separate entity. This was Beethoven’s last composition.
Joining Enyeart for these two works are Robert Davidivici, violin, and Alan Iglitzin, viola.
Popular with local audiences, Nakmatsu will join the members of the quartet to close the first half of the concert with the Piano Quartet in E Flat, K 493 by Mozart.
During the second half, he will perform Piano Quartet in C minor; Op 60.
Nakamatsu’s current season includes orchestral engagements, recitals and chamber music collaborations throughout the United States and Europe.
Tickets are available at the door, or in advance by calling the Bass Hall Ticket Office at 817-212-4280 or toll free at 1-877-212-4280.
Tickets are $5 for students, $15 for adults and $12 for seniors.
Group rates of $10 per person are also available for groups of 10 or more.
