SE Campus
Angela Favazza, adjunct music instructor, will present a piano recital Thursday, Sept. 26, at 11:45 a.m. in the NE Ballroom on SE Campus.
South Campus
Two Women In New Roles (WIN-R) students were recently awarded the Liliane Bailey Scholarship for the WIN-R program. Ginger High and Betty Waples each received $200 for tuition and books. The program is geared for women entering school for the first time or returning to school and need assistance to help them with the transition.

The career center is sponsoring a seminar on how to do well in the job interview and negotiation process Tuesday, Oct. 1, 11 a.m.-12:20 p.m. in the SUB Forum Room.
NW Campus
Connie Alexander, counselor and associate professor of psychology, will present Depression and Anxiety Thursday, Sept. 26, at 12:30 p.m. in C-112. The workshop, part of the Counseling Personal Enrichment Workshops, will look at how depression and anxiety affect children and teen.

The Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI) Workshop will be conducted by Jim Sherwood, counselor and assistant professor of psychology, Friday, Sept. 27, at 12:30 p.m. in C-112. Participating students will complete the LASSI, which measures 10 scales related to student success, such as motivation, anxiety and test strategies. Then, the participants will receive information on enhancing their study skills.

Reta Fretwell, counselor and assistant professor of psychology, will present Testing and Study Skills, Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 12:30 p.m. in C-112. The seminar will cover effective test-taking skills and study strategies.

Students can learn how to Take Command of Your Computer Thursday, Oct. 3, at 12:30 p.m. C-112. Judy Firmin, computer science instructor, will lead a hands-on seminar on using the new voice command and dictation features of MS Word XP. Firmin will field questions from students about their problems with computers and their programs.
NE Campus
Career and employment services will continue its student workshops in October. Interviewing Tips will be held Wednesday, Oct. 2, 12:30-2 p.m. in the Student Center Galley. Student should register one week in advance at necareerservices@tccd.net or in Student Center 156.

Dr. James Varnado, counselor and professor of psychology, and Dr. Duane Littlefield will present HIV and AIDS, an informative workshop. Topics for discussion will include the history of the HIV virus and AIDS, populations affected, myths and misconceptions and health management. The presentation is Wednesday, Oct. 2, 12:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. in CAB 112.

Personal Financial Planning is the topic of a workshop by Linda Specks, academic advisor, Thursday, Oct. 3, 12:30-1:30 p.m. in CAB 112. Participants will explore personal money management strategies, including credit card use/debt, consumer credit, discount buying, saving and planning for the future.
