NE Campus seeks corporate challengers

NE Campus employees can prove their athletic superiority and bring home a trophy.
The 2002 Corporate Challenge kicks off Saturday, April 13, as businesses across the area send teams of employees to participate. The events provide a unique opportunity to meet and make friends within the community.
The event is organized similar to Olympic games with activities spread over two weeks and at different venues in the area.
Opening Ceremonies are Saturday, April 13, at Northfield Park. The tug-of-war event will also be held on April 13. Teams must include three women for this event. A single-elimination co-ed softball tournament also is scheduled.
Mens, womens and mixed doubles horseshoe matches will be Sunday, April 14, also at Northfield Park. Matches will be one game to 21 points in a single elimination format.
Mountasia Family Fun Center will be the site of the miniature golf events on Tuesday, April 16. The 18-hole scotch doubles format will be used with divisions for men, women and mixed doubles.
Table tennis matches are set for Tuesday and Wednesday, April 16-17, at the North Richland Hills (NRH) Recreation Center. A single elimination format with the best two-out-of-three will be used.
NCAA rules will govern the basketball tournament Thursday-Friday, April 18-19. The event will be held at the NRH Recreation Center and Richland High School.
One female player is required on the team of four for the Florida Scramble golf tournament. The event is scheduled Saturday, April 20, at Iron Horse Golf Club.
Watauga Brunswick Lanes will be host to the bowling tournament Saturday, April 20. Teams of five players (two must be female) will bowl three games. The total score will determine a champion.
NE Campus will hold the 5K run Sunday, April 21. Teams will have four males and four females. The top three times on each team will be combined for a total score.
Three divisions will compete in a double-elimination billiards tournament scheduled Tuesday and Wednesday, April 23-24, at Texas Billiards.
Co-ed teams of three men and three women will compete in the volleyball tournament on Thursday and Friday, April 25-26, at NRH Recreation Center and Birdville High School.
Teams will participate in pool play, with the top teams advancing to a play-off.
The Corporate Challenge will conclude Saturday, April 27, with the Wacky Olympics at Northfield Park. Twenty-member mixed teams participate in five events to see who survives the day.
The awards for the champions will be presented that evening during the closing ceremony.
All events are timed for after-work hours so employees may attend as many events as possible.
