NE season hindered by forfeits

    The playoffs for NE Campus intramural basketball began last week with AA Boys playing the undefeated Shooters.

   The AA Boys beat the Shooters by outscoring them 52-51. The AA Boys victory was short-lived, however.

   After the game, it was discovered the AA Boys had been competing with a player who was not a TCC student. The rules of intramurals state that all players must be students.

   The AA Boys were forced to forfeit the game, advancing the Shooters to the next round of the playoffs. The AA Boys displayed horrible sportsmanship after the game.

   The AA Boys taunted players from the other team and audience members. This forced campus police to be called to control the situation.

   Friday's games ended in forfeitures because of lack of players. Therefore, the Invasion and the Mavs move to the semi-finals.
The semi-finals are Friday, March 1, with the Texas Boyz and Shooters at 12:30 p.m. and the Mavs and Invasion at 1:30 p.m.
