New TV Idol sought

If you dreamed of being Kelly Clarkson a few months ago, your chance is here.

Auditions for American Idol 2 begin Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 8 a.m. in Austin. They will be held at the Doubletree Hotel at 6505 IH 35 North.
To audition, the person must be between 16 and 24 by Oct. 19, 2002, be eligible to work in the United States, sign a release form and provide a current photograph.

Nobody will be allowed to audition without showing proof of age and a photo ID.

The auditions also require contestants to sing a cappella (without music) any song of their choice.

If a person is called back, he or she will have to choose from a list of songs, learn the selection overnight and be prepared to sing it the next day.

This process will take three days to complete. The last round of callbacks includes singing for the judges.

The auditions, which started earlier this month, are being held in seven cities across the United States.

The singers chosen from those auditions will head to Hollywood for another three-day audition.

Then the top 30 will compete on national television for America to narrow it down to the top ten.

Each contestant needs to be prepared to stay in California for the duration of the show and to be judged by Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and newcomer Angie Martinez.
