Spring timely arrives for campus spectacle

Trees are budding against a bright blue sky and tiny flowers speckle the ground with color. The air is refreshing; the sun is warm. These are signs that spring has sprung.

One of the advantages of being a college student is the opportunity to walk between classes in the beautiful spring weather. NW campus student activities took advantage of this mood by throwing a Spring Fling last week.

To aid in the fun, the Spring Fling offered many activities. Students could blow bubbles or make designs with colored sidewalk chalk. Wooden planes were thrust into the spring air. Some students played with a gigantic ball; the perspective made them look like kids.

Students enjoyed free beverages and watermelon while listening to the cool sounds of the Razzmajazz trio. This group of jazz musicians included an unusual combination of tuba, clarinet and banjo.

The festivities gave the students an excuse to enjoy some frivolous fun in the sun.
