Campuses schedule opening activities

    NE Campus
    Student activities will sponsor Survivor week, Aug. 27-31, 9–11 a.m., outside of ATB, to welcome students. They will offer free cold drinks, popcorn, campus guides and calendars. Student organizations will set up tables with membership information and fund-raising activities.

    Student ambassadors and student organization officers are invited to a luncheon Wednesday, Sept. 5, 12:30 p.m. NE Center Corner. It is an opportunity to review the NE student activities calendar and make suggestions for activities and events. Students are encouraged to become involved. Anyone who wants to attend must contact Lou Davenport in student activities at 817-515-6644.

    NW Campus
    Student Activities is sponsoring the annual Howdy barbeque Thursday, Aug. 30, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., in the Node court, to welcome students. Southern Justice will perform. Students will find free drinks and discounts food.

    Club Fest will be held both Wednesday, Aug. 29, and Thursday, Aug. 30, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 5-6 p.m., B-1 foyer across from the bookstore. This is an opportunity for student organizations to answer questions and for students to sign up for membership. Students will receive free drinks and popcorn.

    SE Campus
Student activities will provide free donuts in the SUB Commons Wednesday, Aug. 29, and Thursday, Aug. 30, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.

    The dean of student development and educational services will sponsor the Sample Southeast student welcome celebration Wednesday, Sept. 5, 1-2 p.m. and 6:15-7:15 p.m. in the Commons. Orientation will inform students about available services. There will be a variety of foods and drinks to sample.

    Club fest will introduce students to the organizations on campus and give them an opportunity to ask questions and join Wednesday, Aug. 29, and Thursday, Aug. 30., 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.

    South Campus
    Student orientation will be held Aug. 3, 10, 11 and 18, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the SUB Living Room. Call counseling at 817-515-4558 for more information.

    Senior education orientation is scheduled Friday, Aug. 31, 12:30-4 p.m. in the SUB Living Room.

    Career services will sponsor a career center workshop Tuesday, Sept 4, 11 a.m.-12:20 p.m. in the SUB Forum Room. Call 817-515-4551 for more information.

    Also on the fourth, Women in New Roles will sponsor a seminar, Celebrating Our Differences, in the SUB Living Room 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Call Triesha Light at 817-515-4558 for more information.

    College student survival series, Time Management, will be held Tuesday, Sept. 11, 11 a.m.-12:20 p.m. in the SUB Texas room.

Texas A&M recruiters will be on campus Tuesday, Sept. 11, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the SUB lobby.

    Students wanting more information on campus organizations and membership can attend Club Fest Wednesday, Sept. 12, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on the SUB patio.

    Career services has scheduled a job fair Wednesday, Sept. 12, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in the SUB dining room.
