Intramurals open on South Campus

    Intramural sports and open recreation for the spring semester have begun on the South Campus.

   The intramural department is looking for all students interested in sports to contact the department to begin activities.

   At the present time, planned activities, open to all students, include racquetball, ping-pong, 3-on-3 basketball, co-ed indoor soccer and the Century Jogging Club.

   However, other sports will be considered for campus competition, according to intramural planners.

   All levels of fitness are met for students who participate in open recreation and intramural sports.

   Open recreation for students, faculty and staff is available Monday-Thursday from 3-6 p.m.

   Open recreation is available during times when classes are not being held.

   All intramural games will be played Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-6 p.m.

   Racquetball entries are due Wednesday, Feb. 6, and play begins Monday, Feb. 11.

   Students interested in participating in ping-pong need to sign up by Monday, Feb. 18.

   Games commence Monday, Feb. 25.

   Registration for indoor soccer is due Monday, Feb. 18.

   Actual soccer action begins with games Monday, March 4.

   For those students interested in individual achievements, the department has other programs.

   The Century Jogging and Swim Club are also open to all enrolled students.

   As well, for students who want to run, walk or swim, a t-shirt will be awarded to all students who swim 50 miles and who jog or walk 100 miles.

   The South Campus intramural department encourages students to participate and are open to any suggestions to improve campus-wide communications and advertising.
