Ornaments needed for tree
The NE Campus Student Ambassadors will sponsor a Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony Thursday, Nov. 29, at 6:30 p.m. in the ATB lobby.
The campus community is invited to donate ornaments that represent individual cultures, clubs and programs but not religions.
White lights will also be needed. Donated lights and ornaments can be dropped off in the student activities office through Monday, Nov. 26.
Ornaments will not be returned.
Lou Davenport, student development coordinator, will help collect the ornament and light donations.
This tree will represent our campus, she said.
All of the clubs and disciplines are encouraged to bring ornaments with their name or symbol on it, she said.
Refreshments will be served.
Phi Theta Kappa members will also contribute by hanging Adopt An Angel ornaments on the tree.
Anyone who wants to help a child should pick one up and follow the directions on the back.
The Salvation Army organizes this Adopt An Angel program.
The tags represent Forgotten Children from families who applied too late for assistance.
Gift suggestions, age group and gender of the child are on the angel tag.
Gifts should be unwrapped and placed in clear plastic bags with tag attached.
Bring the gift bags to KC Jones, president of Phi Theta Kappa, at The Collegian in CAB 120 before Friday, Dec. 7.
