Paris in springtime an artful endeavor

While love is in the air and cupids are flying around, students who dream of romantic nights in Paris, France, may want to consider signing up for the Art in Paris class before Thursday, Feb. 14, the registration deadline.

The trip will be May 9-20.

Art in Paris credits students for ARTS 1301, Art Appreciation; ARTS 1376, Contemporary Art Studies, or one of several French classes. Students do not need to have a previous knowledge of French to register for one of the art classes.

The student chooses one of the classes and obtains three hours of college credit.

A non-credit, continuing education course, is also offered, ART 5870. This class provides credit for those students who have gone on the trip before and do not need any of the other classes for credit.

Students taking Art Appreciation or Paris Art Studies will have seven assignments based on five required museum visits and two excursions.

Students have two free days and evenings for exploration and free time.

The cost of the course is $2,700 plus tuition and fees.

The price includes airfare, metro pass, double occupancy hotel accommodations, museum entrance fees, daily breakfast, three dinners and two excursions.

Space is limited to 14 students.

A deposit of $400 must be paid by Feb. 14 to reserve space.

A passport is required for travel to France.
