Plano repertory doing the warp in Rocky revival

The Plano Repertory Theatre is presenting The Rocky Horror Show at the ArtCentre Theatre through Saturday, Nov. 2.

The nearly 30-year-old stage musical is about an ordinary couple who has car trouble and seeks help at the castle of Dr. Frank N. Furter, a transvestite mad scientist who conducts odd experiments.

The Rocky Horror Show has a large cult following because of the success of the popular film version starring Tim Curry. The show recently experienced a Broadway revival, and Fox is currently in production on a new film version to be aired next year.

Directing is Carl Pistilli, the former artistic director of Garland Civic Theatre.

Scott Kirkham did sets and lights, Nancy Roberts did choreography, and Mark Mullino is musical director.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays and 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

There also will be additional midnight shows Oct. 25-26 and Nov. 1-2. Prices for the shows are $25 for the early shows and $20 for the midnight shows.

A special Rocky Horror Halloween Madness performance will be Thursday, Oct. 31, at 8 p.m. This performance, for adults only, will have food and drinks as well as a cast reception and special giveaways. Tickets are $35.

The Plano Artcentre Theatre is at 1028 15th Place in Plano.

Tickets can be purchased at the box office from noon-5 p.m., Monday through Friday, or at the door when available.
