Reals defeat Running on SE

    The Real Players defeated Running It last week on SE Campus in intramural basketball.

   At the start, the Real Players were behind 6-1 because of the play of Josh Ritters of Running It.

   Later, the Real Players heightened their intensity with a barrage of two pointers.

   Throughout the game, Steve Williams of Real Players was fouled and made 7 bonus points.

   Josh Ritter of Running It blocked four inside layups, which made the score 29-24 in favor of Running It.

   Running It was successful in driving but seldom converted any two pointers.

   With six minutes remaining, Real Players’ Octavius Martin scored 24 points, in collaboration with Clyde Jones and Steve Williams, making the final score 44-40 Real Players.

   The double-elimination tournament is April 16, 18, 22 and 25 with the championship game at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 25.

   Participants should read the disciplinary book, which details the rules on sportsmanship.

   In the championship, all teams should win twice against opponents.

   Team records for the tournament are Showtime 8-1, Mavs 9-0, Horns 4-5, Keep it Real 5-3, Running it 2-7, Panthers 3-6 and Real Players 3-5.
