Round and round and round they go
Hundreds of students celebrated the warm weather during the NE Spring Fest last week.
Events such as Hula Hoop contests, massages, stress tests and video taping of band impersonations were set up on the campus center lawn.
Crush, a local band, played well-known songs and chart hits.
Near noon, the band stepped down for NE Campus own Madrigal Choir, which sang not only classical baroque period pieces, but also parodies and comedies of many songs and dramatic pieces.
Christian Student Ministries (CSM) sponsored one of the booths at the Fest. Cliff Thompson of CSM assisted other club members in handing out pamphlets and information during the campus event.
CSM is a group of students who want to know Christ better and to spread the Christian religion throughout the campus, he said.
Other Spring Fest events included volleyball, ping-pong, water balloon fights and a car bash for students who needed to release their end-of-semester pressures. Student-affiliated programs sold food and drinks.
Corporate sponsors for this years event included Dominos Pizza, NRH20, Schlotzskys, Harrigans Restaurant, Cool River Café and Mountasia Family Fun Center.
Music and games continued past the set ending time. Planning for next years Fest will start soon.
