Students sample campus

SE Campus is taking a new approach to welcoming new students this year by combining free food with facts pertaining to student services, organizations and campus life at this fall’s orientation program, Sample Southeast.

“It’s going to be a celebration introducing students to the campus and allow the faculty, including Dr. Judith Carrier, SE president, and students to present first hand all the programs and opportunities SE has to offer,” Rusty Fox, SE dean of student development and educational services, said.

Providing the food and refreshments are local businesses including Chick-Fil-A, Blimpy’s, Spring Creek Barbeque, Mr. Jim’s Pizza of Mansfield, Unique Catering and Party Planners and Mansfield National Golf Club.

Sample Southeast will be held in the commons Wednesday, Sept. 5, beginning at 1 p.m. and Thursday, Sept. 6, beginning at 6:15 p.m.
Similar celebrations are planned to continue the initial orientation and also to ensure that students are aware of upcoming events, guest speakers and facilities that may aid them in their education at TCC, Fox said.
