SE opens basketball action
Showtime, Keep It Real win in season’s first games

Three-on-three intramural basketball began last week on the SE Campus.

In the first game, Showtime defeated the Real Players 51-27.

Jerome Malone of Showtime made three consecutive shots to start out making the score 6-0 Showtime.

Later Showtime’s lead progressed to 21-0. After a scoring drought of 10 minutes, the Real Players scored one.

Consistent with their intensity, Showtime dominated the Real Players both offensively and defensively, making numerous two pointers and inside lay-outs.

The Real Players fought to recover by shooting from the outside. Because of Showtime’s manipulation, the Real Players were not able to catch up. The Real Players scored 20 more points, bring the final score to 51-27.

In the second game, Keep it Real defeated the Horns 38-27.

Horns player Bryan Posey was not present, so the team had only two players: Ryan Eubank and Cliff Uwagabai. However, the game proceeded with the odds uneven 3-2.

Since Keep it Real had six players total, they were able to rotate players.

Starting the game, Keep it Real scored four baskets making it 8-0.

Relief for the Horns appeared as Posey arrived with 15 minutes left in the game. He made his presence known quickly, scoring three points moments later and making the score 25-11.

   The final score was 38-27.
