SE job fair seeking holiday employees
SE Campus will hold a job fair for part- and full-time employment during the holiday season 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Wednesday. Oct. 23, in the Commons.
The Holiday Helpers Job Fair gives students employment opportunities and opens the door to long-term employment. It gives the student a chance to get into the work world, Darrell Whitsell, career and employment services employee, said.
The job fair is open to the community, and over 20 businesses are scheduled to attend, including AFLAC Insurance, FedEx Freight, Tupperware, U.S. Army, U.S. Postal Service and Wyndham Hotels.
At past job fairs, over 632 people have participated and interacted with potential employers, Whitsell said.
Many of the positions are retail and part-time, but full-time opportunities frequently rise out of seasonal employment through good performance, Whitsell said.
Employment with these businesses also helps students because it links the training they receive in the classroom to the work world, he said.
Career and Employment Services and Campus Services organized the job fair. For more information, call 817-515-3592.
