Heart Walk to benefit Heart Association
Students and staff have an opportunity next month to stretch their legs and help others live longer.
NE Campus is sponsoring the American Heart Walk Saturday, Oct 5, at the Texas Star Sports and Conference Centre in Euless.
The event will start at 8:30 a.m. with registration and opening ceremonies.
According to the American Heart Association (AHA), the walk will celebrate survivors of heart disease and stroke.
Heart disease is the number one killer in America. One death occurs every 33 seconds.
Dr. Larry Darlage, president of NE Campus, serves on the board of the AHA.
Darlage said it is important for everyone to participate in finding a cure for heart disease.
This event gives students a fun way to contribute to community and society, Darlage said.
I would like to see a high visibility of TCC students, faculty and staff at the American Heart Walk, he said.
