SE faculty display talent in spring art exhibition
All variations of art coat the walls of SE Campus Art Corridor II in this years faculty art show, fifteen.
The exhibit has a wide-range of media, materials and attitudes. It showcases the richness and diversity of the art instruction on campus, Chris Goebel, art department director, said.
Sculpture, ceramics, small metals, digital image, painting, photography, installation pieces and a video installation are included in the exhibit.
While no particular theme was planned or intended, art seems to be reflecting life in several pieces.
The destruction of the World Trade Center appears to be on the minds of the artists and filtered through some of the work, John Frost, curator, said.
We hope fifteen elicits dialogue for the students, and they can use it as a learning resource, Goebel said.
The exhibit is open during normal school hours Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m.-10 p.m.; Friday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
An artists lecture and reception is scheduled for today, 1-4 p.m.
The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
