Tournament to aid charity
A basketball tournament Saturday, May 4, will help raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
The three-on-three tournament will be in the NE Campus gym. Registration is limited to the first 25 teams that enter.
Students, faculty or anyone interested may participate.
Gender mix of the teams is not required, but there is an age minimum of at least 18.
A $20 required entry fee will be sent to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society via the Team-in-Training program.
Laura Bradford, HPE instructional assistant, is coordinating the fund-raiser.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, and the games will begin by 9 a.m.
The tournament should be completed that evening.
The tournament format consists of 10-point games, with baskets counting as one and two points.
A team must win two out of three games to advance to the next round of play.
A winners and losers bracket allows teams to play at least two games.
Since the tournament is limited to only 25 teams, tournament organizers have suggested that teams interested contact Bradford at 817-515-6157.
