Artist inspired by experiences for ceramic work

Art lovers may want to travel to SE Campus this summer.

Leandra Urratia’s Seven and the Maiden exhibit of ceramic sculptures is in the Art Corridor I, curated by Rafael Molina.

Urrutia describes her work as a “shamanistic” experience inspired by memories that reflect hope and the future.

“It is fascinating how symbolism can be challenged when objects are brought together. Individual experiences influence the meaning of these pieces. It is intriguing what past feelings the imagery can stir in the viewer,” she said.

Urrutia’s exhibit is free and on display until July 13.

The exhibit’s hours are Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-9 p.m.
