TCC searches for math wizards

Students interested in putting their numbers to a test can do so next week on their respective campuses.

All four TCC campuses will participate in the Jim Bolen Math Competition Friday, April 13, at 2 p.m.

The competition is composed of three one-hour pre-calculus tests.

Students interested must be enrolled at TCC for at least four semester hours; however, they cannot have a two-year or higher degree.

At the time of registration, students must not have earned more than 70 college level hours. In addition, students may not be enrolled at a four-year institution.

The student with the best score on each test on each campus wins $25.

Each campus has first, second and third prizes. First prize is $250; second is $150, and third is $50.

District winners for first will receive $750, second $400 and third $300.

Every contestant who competes wins a T-shirt.

Students who win will receive their awards at an awards ceremony on Friday, May 4.

Students interested in competing can call the math faculty advisors on their campus.
