    Wednesday, Jan. 29 - Steve Rakoff, counselor, presents Effective Note Taking: Getting the Most Out of What the Instructor Says 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the SUB Texas Room on South Campus. Rakoff will offer techniques on proper note taking to increase success in college classes.

Wednesday, Jan. 29 - The Northeast Art Association (NEAA) will hold its first meeting 2-4 p.m. in College Hall (CAB 112). Sponsored by Anitra Blayton, the student-based group is for all art fields, performance and visual artists, art historians, creative writers and "undeclared" art students on NE Campus. The group is planning a Fine Arts Xplosion for later in the semester. The club also offers the opportunity to present feedback and ideas to departmental faculty.

Tuesday, Feb. 4 - Those interested in a practical guide to today's stock market can attend The Not So Secret Recipe for Financial Success 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in the SUB Living Room on South Campus. John Lloyd, investment representative, will provide suggestions for saving for retirement and reducing taxes.

Wednesday, Feb. 5 - The South Campus career center will present Looking for a Job 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the SUB Living Room. The seminar will cover using the Internet and networking with professionals during the job search.

Wednesday, Feb. 5 - Flo Stanton, South Campus nurse and coordinator of health services, will present Balancing Multiple Roles. She will emphasize successful coordination of being a parent, student, employee and other roles. Held in collaboration with the Women in New Roles program, the presentation will be 6-6:45 p.m. in the SUB Forum Room on South Campus.

Wednesday, Feb 5 - Anxiety is the focus of a seminar presented by Connie Alexander 12:30 p.m. in C-112 on NW Campus. Alexander will help participants determine if they are anxious or depressed and tell them where to find help.

Thursday, Feb. 6 - Time Management will help students learn to organize their schedules for optimum efficiency. Sponsored by the counseling center, the seminar is 12:30-1:50 p.m. in CAB 112 on NE Campus.

Thursday, Feb. 6 - Lori Blagg and Kristie Johnson will present Math Anxiety twice, 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in C-112 on NW Campus. They will offer guidelines for overcoming anxiety and gaining confidence to become successful in math.

Friday, Feb. 7 - NW Campus counseling department will present The Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI) 12:30 p.m. in C-112. Jim Sherwood will lead students through the assessment program, explain the results and provide information on ways to enhance study skills.
