Today View works by NW students in the art department’s Annual Student Art Exhibition in the Lakeview Gallery (WFAB 1135). The pieces represent 3-D and 2-D artwork produced this year and judged by area artists. Gallery hours are 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. The exhibit is free.

Today-May 3 The NE Playhouse puts on its last play of the school year, Annie Get Your Gun. The musical, set in the 1800s, centers around the rocky relationship between Annie Oakley and Frank Butler, two rivals in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. Showtimes are Wednesday-Saturday at 8 p.m. Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. Tickets are $6 for general admission, $3 for non-TCC students and seniors and free for TCC students, faculty and staff. Today-May 4 Pantagleize Theatre presents Henrik Ibsen’s Little Eyolf. The play, a rarely performed Norwegian masterpiece from the Father of Modern Drama, combines fairy tale with realism and explores the complexities of family relationships. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Preview performance is Thursday, April 25, with $8 tickets while regular performances are $10-$12. May 1
TCC students with a valid ID can get a $10 discount on tickets to hear jazz artists Chuck Mangione and Dianne Reeves 8 p.m. at Bass Hall. Tickets are available online at www.basshall.com, over the phone at 817-212-4280 or in person.

May 2 NW Campus Dance Program presents Assorted Pieces, featuring performances by the spring dance technique classes, the NW Dance Company and the Mosaic Dance Project. The performance will encompass a wide variety of dance styles from classical ballet to new age jazz and pop. The performance is in the NW Theatre 1-3 p.m. General Admission is $1. May 3 The Roberson Theatre in SE Campus presents Dance Works. The premier of the student resident dance ensemble, Rhapsody Movement Company, will perform works showcasing many genres of dance, such as hip hop, jazz, modern, tap and ballet. Jamie Perrin and Erin Mallar, two dance faculty members, also will perform. Admission is free and open to the public.

May 4 Kirk Franklin brings his contemporary gospel music to Bass Hall 2 p.m. TCC students with a valid ID can get a $10 discount on tickets; groups of 20 or more receive a 20 percent discount. Tickets for this matinee are available only by phone at 817-212-4280 or in person.

May 5 The Yardman Group, a world percussion ensemble, will perform 8-9:30 p.m. in the NSTU Center Corner on NE Campus. The Yardman Group will play West African rhythms, Brazilian and Afro-Cuban selections. Don’t miss the fun of dancing in the aisles during the Latin Extravaganza.

May 12-June 5 NW Campus visual arts department is sponsoring reCOLLECTION, a one-person exhibit featuring Autumn Kinsey, a student at the University of Dallas. The influence behind the exhibit stems from Kinsey’s childhood, using different elements from the home she was raised in and the accompanying memories to convey a sense of comfort and relaxation. The exhibit will be open Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-10 p.m. in the Lakeview Gallery (WFAB 1135). On Thursday, May 29, the art department will host an artist’s reception and gallery talk with Kinsey 6-9 p.m. in the gallery. Admission is free and open to the public.

May 23 The Northeast Orchestra will perform its final concert of the season at Colleyville Center. The 8 p.m. concert, featuring “Olympic Fanfare” by John Williams and “Petite Suite” by Debussy, will be preceded by a humorous pre-concert by the Treble Makers at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 seniors and students.
